SORTvax makes use of that opportunity — integrating Aquaticode’s AI phenotyping to assess key traits in real time and route each fish accordingly. Introducing the SORTvax

SORTvax integrates with leading vaccination systems and adapts to a variety of line layouts. Fish enter the phenotyping module at the optimal point in your process. Each fish is assessed for key traits, then automatically directed to the appropriate next stage. When vaccination is part of the process, it is carried out entirely by your existing equipment.

At the core of SORTvax is Aquaticode’s patented method for recognising traits in live fish using non-invasive ultrasound, multi-sensor imaging, and AI. This technology captures both external and internal features, processes them through deep learning models trained on our proprietary library of millions of labelled images and videos, and identifies traits such as gender, health markers, and robustness — all at full line speed and with accuracy close to 100%.

Why it matters: Removing unviable fish early prevents feed, space, and labour from being wasted on animals unlikely to reach harvest weight. It improves survival rates and frees capacity for fish with stronger growth potential. Sorting for robustness and health traits creates more uniform, resilient groups and reduces downstream losses. Gender sorting unlocks targeted production strategies — such as shortening cycles by harvesting faster-growing males (≈20% growth advantage) or maximising yield by raising females separately (≈5% growth premium when not mixed with males).

Because SORTvax scans every fish for multiple traits, it generates the best possible biological dataset — at the level of the individual, tank, site, region, and entire operation. Together, these capabilities drive higher survival, faster growth, and better margins without adding handling stress.
